New England Stream & Field
157 Meriden Rd. (Rte 66)
Middlefield, CT 06455
New England Stream & Field’s new location is in Middlefield (they were formerly located in Silversmith Park in Wallingford; this new building used to house Cubeta’s Field & Stream).
NESF is a large store. Not all of their stock is guns; they are CT’s only authorized Orvis dealer, and their fishing section takes up a good portion of space. They also stock archery gear. One thing we have noticed: NESF stocks a good amount of Prvi Partizan ammo. If you are lucky enough to have a gun that likes this ammo, NESF is a good place to check.
NESF offers a mix of new & used guns. They are dealers for Ruger, Kimber, Benelli, Smith&Wesson, Remington, Stag Arms, Bushmaster, Taurus, SigArms, Glock, Mossberg, PTR91.
NESF has a large selection of used handguns. It is one of the stores that I make sure to check when I am looking for something unique or interesting. I saw a Mauser HSc, a weird hump-backed DAO Arminius revolver, old FN & Browning pistols, old Colts, a Husqvarna pistol, a Luger. Crapgame found a Webley in .38 S&W, but decided to wait for an example in a more common caliber before he crossed that model off of his wish-list. I regularly find Colt 1903s here; someday I will find the right one for me.
There are plenty of sporting long guns to choose from. They also stock tactical long guns, and some interesting surplus guns. For example, two MAS 49/56 semi-auto battle rifles (formerly French military issue; I could see no evidence they had been dropped), an Inland .30 cal M1 carbine in nice condition, some SKSs.
The staff is friendly and low-pressure.
NESF is one of the places that we check regularly for used guns. Make time to visit them for yourself.
