He’s at it again, folks.
The camera-chasing gun-hating Senator upChuck Schumer wants to impose background-check requirements for private firearm sales.
Money quote below the fold:
U.S. Sen. Charles Schumer said Wednesday he will propose legislation requiring all gun buyers to undergo a background check and broadly increasing penalties against states that don’t contribute names to the national background-check system.
“All we’re talking about here is making sure that certain individuals who demonstrated violent behavior in the past, who have documented mental illness, who could be inclined to terrorism, or who have a history of drug abuse, don’t get a weapon,” Schumer said.
I forgot to post this:
“Remington officials announced that products from Bushmaster Firearms International will be made in Ilion…
The announcement was presided over by U.S. Sen. Charles Schumer, D-N.Y.
“Thanks to Remington’s continued confidence in this capable work force, we’re going to see even more good-paying jobs at the plant, creating positive ripple effects throughout the region,” Schumer said. “The addition of these jobs strengthens the ability of the Remington plant in Ilion to compete for the many Department of Defense small arms M-4 and M-16 style firearms.”
“Remington Arms is becoming the economic engine of Herkimer County,” Schumer said.”
What a hypocrite.
